Finding stability after losing our house

Hello everyone,

My partner Luke and I are a neurodivergent, disabled, trans couple currently without stable housing. We’re staying in a hotel with our two cats as we work towards securing a more permanent place. After leaving our previous residence, we’ve struggled to find a new home, but we recently received a potential opportunity in Luke’s hometown of Rapid City, SD. A friend there has offered us a chance at a shared housing situation, but it won’t be available until November 2nd. We’re reaching out for support to help us cover the costs of staying afloat and moving until then.

Here’s a breakdown of the funds we’re hoping to raise:

• $2,100 to cover our hotel stay through the end of October
• $800 for a U-Haul rental and gas to relocate
• $1,100 for our portion of the rental deposit, pet deposit, and first month’s rent
• $1,000 for essentials: food and supplies for us and our cats, medication, transportation, and other daily expenses
